IRF Weekly Wrap-Up

May 26, 2007

While this blog was founded upon the principles of entertaining ourselves and others, we also wanted it to educate, uplift, amuse and perchance enlighten our readers. LeMare fulfilled our mission single-handedly on Wednesday when she made her shocking confession that is still reverberating throughout the blogosphere. Reader Jo Ellen wrote,

I had a root canal today where the infection had invaded the bone, then had to take my cancer-stricken husband for chemotherapy. I didn’t think things could get much worse than this, but lo and behold, the Suitor story takes the prize. When I’m down and out, I’ll just reread this for a good laugh. Thanks!!!

Dare we say this was almost the best week ever at IRF, but Joey Miller’s antics were certainly missed on Miller Monday. After an exhaustive review of resumes, we are pleased to announce our summer 2007 intern, Fun Time Nicki. She comes highly recommended and is demonstrably skilled to post movie reviews, social commentaries and send the occasional fax. She is also related to me.

Summer 2007 InternKenneth

Fun Time Nicki with her Intern Inspiration

She’ll be reporting to Kenneth so we have no doubt her time will be well spent this summer. In the meantime, if any of you receive errant faxes, please let us know. She can always be sent a passive aggressive note saying her last day was yesterday.

Speaking of interns, Phenix Friday showcased a fabulous travel opportunity for any singletons full of soul who haven’t made summer plans. Sara hasn’t heard back if The Bad Boy of Radio has accepted her as an intern, so fingers crossed she gets welcomed aboard in time for the Jamaican Island Jam Takeover.

Elsewhere in the nation, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, not to be confused with The Hoff, stood her ground next to the raging pit bull Rosie, and ended up the victor on The View. O’Donnell’s cryptic blog poetry did not shed any light on her decision to leave the show three weeks early but I for one, am glad to see the controversial figure go.

Mitt’s enjoying a good lead in the Iowa polls while his attacker, Al Sharpton, peacefully attended Family Home Evening in Sandy, Utah as a part of his trip to LDS Church headquarters to make amends for his bigoted remarks about Romney’s faith.

Way to go Al

Liz S of Say Yes! to Hoboken fame, shares a helpful strategy her husband uses to get scooped plentiful scoops of ice cream at shops. This may come in handy when ringing in the start of summer on Monday with burgers, hot dogs and late night trips to Baskin Robbins. A Happy Memorial Day to all.

Is Al Sharpton wearing a Mao suit?

Once, I asked a guy whose father had lived in China if he owned a Mao Suit. He thought I said Mouse Suit.

On an unrelated note, I’m please as Christmas punch about Fun Time Nicki accepting our offer to be the first IRF intern. Coupled with the brilliance of Miller Monday, Phenix Friday, and Myrts Blurts, we will take over the world.

PS. Momma LeMare thought Kenneth (pictured above) was cute… And Real… and asked, “Why don’t you date him?”
    1. I will never date a man with bangs.
    2. I would never date an intern.
    3. I could be his mother
    4. The rest goes without saying.

I would just like to say that I am honored to accept my position as intern and to be pictured with the one and only Kenneth. I can only hope to be half the intern he is.

Apparently Ben Affeck made offensive comments (SHOCKING!) about Mormons, a’la Al Sharpton. Wouldn’t it be classic to see HIM at a Sandy Family Home Evening?
