Breaking News: Heath Ledger Dies in NYC Apt!

No sequel to Brokeback Mountain, kids.  Heath Ledger’s masseuse found him dead in his New York apartment.  Police do not suspect foul play, but pills were found near his body.

He leaves behind a 2-year old child.

I knew IRF would be on top of this! Seriously, is there a young celebrity out there who doesn’t use drugs?? I’m starting to wonder.

Yes, and now Greta Van Susteren is counting her lucky stars for more mindless crap to discuss on On The Record.

Greta was one of the first examples I ever remember seeing screaming out to me “don’t ever get plastic surgery.” Nancy Grace will be all over this Heath thing now since her attempt to find the soldier who allegedly murdered his pregnant comrade-in-arms has come up short.

Sportsattitude, your suspicions are confirmed. Nancy Grace is prostituting the story already.

Watched the end of Countdown on MSNBC and Keith O had on the executive sleaze from TMZ. They had the scoop on the way this went down…housekeeper and masseuse pretty much simultaneously found Heath…masseuse apparently knew a bodyguard of the Olsen twins who was nearby and a certified EMT as well so he got ahold of him while the housekeeper rang up 911. Apparently, Heath was already looking like the Joker (his next role in the upcoming Batman movie) and quite dead when he was found. Cops saying nothing indicating suicide whatsoever…in fact, it was reported he had been quite ill for a few days prior to day…his last day. Thank god Nancy is on the case now…have you ever seen the actress who spoofs Grace on Boston Legal? It’s a hoot. She nails the impersonation and they always have her act like an ass.

Oh my God…after this post, I might start hanging out with Britney and Paris…I need to go clean up with some Lysol.

I seriously thought Britney, LiLo or Amy Winehouse (all total train wrecks) would be the next to go. Heath wasn’t even on the radar. TMZ posted video of the coroner moving his body (in a bag) from the apartment to an ambulance… because that’s classy.

Sportsattitude. This is a comprehensive analysis indeed. I’m a little concerned and think that the proper antidote is for you to watch some football immediately and BACK AWAY FROM THE TMZ! 🙂

I feel dirty…ok, here goes…the following is information compiled from today’s editions of the New York Daily News and New York Post…I don’t know how much of this has gotten out to IRF fans so I feel compelled to follow through on as much detail as possible because there is only ONE football game left this season and March Madness is in…well…March.

Bottles of the generic forms of Xanax and Valium, prescribed in his name, were found in the house Heath died in. Pills of some nature were scattered about and there was also an unidentified bottle type found next to the body. An “insider” told Britain’s Daily Mail Heath had been having issues since he and actress Michelle Williams broke up. Williams and the couple’s 2 year old daughter were apparently in Sweden at the time. Quote of the day from NYPD Sgt. Carlos Nieves…”He looked like a hundred corpses I’ve seen before. You see the body and you try to imagine what he looked like in pictures and movies.”

Ironically, there were some gruesome photos of Ledger hanging by a noose floating about the Web last month, leaked images from a scene in an upcoming film production called “The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus.” Other images released showed him relaxing off camera…with the noose still around his neck as he smoked a cigarette.

LeMare’s correct…I gotta go watch some sports…this is getting scary.

I called my sister, not LeMare, the one who subscribes to People Magazine. I was hoping to break the Heath Ledger news to her, but it was hopeless. It was like her trying to break the news to me on which candidate won a caucus. Not going to happen.

The timeline is bizarre…housekeeper arrived at 12:30 PM and bedroom door was closed. She went into the bedroom at 1:00 PM and heard Heath snoring while changing a light bulb in an adjoining bathroom. The masseuse arrived at 2:45 PM for a 3:00 appointment. She goes into the bedroom and finds him face down on the bed. Can’t wake him. She called Mary-Kate Olsen because her bodyguard is an EMT. They have a couple of phone conversations before the masseuse gets around to calling 911…at 3:26 PM. Point being, he may have long been dead anyway, but the masseuse did not call 911 for 20-25 minutes or so after finding him more than asleep. The number of prescription pills on hand are up to five or six types…sleeping pills in addition to the anxiety meds. Found a rolled up $20 bill nearby but tested negative.

LeMare…subscribing to People Magazine! Really, now. Isn’t that a bit more “severe” than my quoting TMZ once?

Bite your tongue, Sportsattitude! It is Lindsay’s (and my) OTHER sister who is the pop-culture junkie. I have subscriptions to Bon Appetite and the Wall Street Journal only!

Tongue bitten. I read Lindsay’s post incorrectly. This proves I have become so disoriented by Heath’s passing I can’t even focus properly. Truth be told, as many movies as I’ve seen I somehow managed to miss every single one of his. This tragedy has admittedly not touched me personally. LeMare, in the words of the late, great Julia Child…who also had many prescriptions in her name when she died but was not BFF’s with Mary-Kate Olsen, “Bon Appetite!”

    Well said!
